Known for its smoky whiskeys, however, Bowmore is one of the milder representatives of the island with around 35 ppm smoke content in the malt. In addition to its bottlings, the distillery is known for Vault No. 1 the only warehouse in Scotland that lies below sea level. Bowmore Legend matured in ex bourbon and sherry casks for an unspecified amount of time.
