linear and very firm finish
with some groundbreaking whites that could compete with the finest white Burgundies (I’d love to do a blind tasting one day) and the most amazing Malbecs you can think of
it should blossom in another five years or so
or pop a cork if you prefer more of a classic
middle weight plus flavors that also exude a lovely bead of minerality on the sappy and youthfully austere finale
Xavier Gerard, Cote Rotie Vintage:2015 linear and very firm finishGrard's 2015 Cote Rotie (tasted from a 375 milliliter bottle) is in a good place right now. Dense, concentrated and creamy textured, it evokes the vintage's warm character, delivering black cherries and black olives in equal measure. Full bodied and velvety in feel, it might lack a bit of elegance, but it delivers plenty of flavor. Drink it over the next decade.
