Description
austere and built-to-age finale
The 2012 Pavie-Macquin shows how appealing the best wines from this vintage are
Compared to the 2021-based Cramant and Les Terres Fines
The 1997 clearly belongs in this flight of milestones
it spent 15 months in 25% each of new French oak
Gonon, Saint-Joseph Oliviers Blanc Vintage:2019 austere and built-to-age finaleBrilliant straw yellow. Fresh, deep pitched tropical and pit fruit aromas are complemented by suggestions of honey and lemon zest. Ripe and fleshy on the palate, showing sharp definition to the energetic peach, pineapple and tangerine flavors. Finishes silky, focused and very long, displaying repeating peachiness and building mineral and floral qualities. Raised in oak demi muids, all of them neutral. Josh Raynolds
