Description
quite mineral-driven
all wrapped in a bitter pit fruit finale that offers impressive persistence
which flies in the face of the vintage that birthed it
it's at the same quality level
This is the first vintage of this wine under its new name
Maume (Tawse), Gevrey Chambertin Lavaut St Jacques other_regions quite mineral-drivenNoticeable wood influence is present on the lightly mentholated nose of plum liqueur, kirsch and whiffs of the sauvage and forest floor. There is more volume and apparent power to the bigger bodied flavors that enjoy fine mid palate density on the austere, mineral driven and impressively persistent finale. This firm effort will need the better part of 12 to 15 years to reach its apogee. Worth a look.
