Here the lateness of the malos is in evidence as the nose is almost raw with traces of fermentation aromas and reduction though the medium plus weight flavors are detailed

Patrick Lesec, Chateauneuf Du Pape Marquis Tonneaux Vintage:2001 There is once again excellentDense and structured, the 2001 Patrick Lesec Chteauneuf du Pape Marquis Tonneaux is a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Mourvdre. Showing deep black cherry and mineral laced dark fruits intermixed with licorice, wild herbs, pepper, the wine is medium to full bodied with a firm, structured core, beautifully ripe fruit, good acidity, and a long, grippy, focused finish. While still in need of another 2 to 4 years for prime drinking, I love the structure and
