Egon Mullers 2011 collection tasted last September at the Scharzhof in his absence represents an intensively selective harvest that extended from mid-October into November and resulted in one of the numerically smallest number of individual bottlings in the history of this venerable estate smaller even than the number from 20100
aged on old demi-muids
There is better energy as well as more evident minerality on the sleek and sophisticated flavors that deliver superb length and depth on the balanced finale
this is another infant at age 10
Best from 2028 through 2047
Etienne Sauzet, Bourgogne Blanc Size:12x750ml Egon Mullers 2011 collection tasted(aged half in wood, half in steel with only ~10% of the portion in wood being new from Puligny vines). A very fresh and pretty nose combines notes of pear, apple and citrus where the latter element is also present on the racy, intense and lightly stony flavors that conclude in a bitter lemon inflected finish. This is a quality Bourgogne and worth checking out plus it will age.
